WE, the undersigned citizens of the United States, do hereby petition and demand the following:
WHEREAS it is known that criminal charges have been filed against employees of ACORN for voter registration fraud in at least 14 states, including 26 charges of compensation for registration of voters and;
WHEREAS it is publicly known that employees and members of ACORN have been fired or terminated after making inquiries into where the financial contributions, state and federal funds have gone;
WHEREAS it is known that the United States Government has provided and is continuing to provide BILLIONS of taxpayer dollars to ACORN and its affiliate organizations;
WHEREAS there is clear and convincing evidence that allegations of embezzlement and voter registration fraud are not contained to any one county or state within these United States;
WHEREAS the Congress of the United States felt it critical to hold hearings and require government oversight of private corporations such as AIG, General Motors and JP Morgan Chase, who were provided BILLIONS of taxpayer dollars;
WHEREAS the Congress of the United States has been more preoccupied with the use of steroids in major league baseball, rather than the sanctity of maintaining a 232 year-old practice of one person one vote;
Whereas you as Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee once stated “I think that it would be something that would be worth our time,” we the citizens of the United States hereby demand the following:
1. That immediate action be taken by the House Judiciary Committee to begin a criminal investigation into the allegations of voter fraud and embezzlement within the ACORN organization;
2. That immediate action be taken to conduct a forensic audit the financial books of the organization known as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, as well as any and all affiliated groups that fall under the umbrella of the ACORN organization;
3. That the United States Congress immediately ceases and desists the funding of any chapter of ACORN, and any group that falls under the umbrella of the ACORN association, with any federal tax payer dollars until the criminal investigation is complete;
4. That immediate steps be taken to ensure that all ACORN employees who act as registrants for voter registration be stopped from registering any further potential voters throughout the United States until the audit and criminal investigation are complete;
5. That immediate steps be taken to ensure that no member or employee of ACORN or of any group or association that falls under the umbrella of ACORN be allowed to participate in the taking of the United States Census until an audit of the financial books and the criminal investigation is complete.
